The Word and the message

This morning I heard that Marshall McLuhan died a convert to Roman Catholicism, and that his final public appearance was to give a talk on the Eucharist. He is known as one of the great intellectuals of our day.

Several of his phrases have become part of the American lexicon, such as the concept of a "global village". Another is "the medium is the message".

This morning I heard the latter phrase used in reference to Christ. He was (and is) the medium, and He was (and is) the message.

I heard on KLOVE yesterday that the majority of people on Facebook have not entered a religion on their profiles; however, of those that did, the top 10 included "Jedi." Christian was #1.

Yeah not really related to your post but, for whatever reason, it came to mind!

In other news, hearing "May the force be with you" makes me want to respond, "And also with you."

When an intellectual embraces Christ or a deeper walk, it opens many doors to those who claim their logical/brilliant minds cannot fathom the simplicity of Christ. My husband is one among them.

P-mama: Jedi, huh? Amazing.

Glass House Girl: My husband as well. I put my hope in His mercy, and in the concept of invincible ignorance.
